Smart lockers for gyms, spas, and fitness facilities
Smart lockers for fitness and hospitality environments are electronically controlled storage units that replace physical keys with RFID wristbands, member keycards, hotel room keys, or mobile credentials — eliminating lost key anxiety, front-desk handoffs, and manual locker assignment. Members tap in, work out, and tap out. Staff manage availability, reset lockers, and audit usage remotely through a cloud dashboard.
Metramodo’s Metra with Genuine HID Technology™ readers support 99.99% of RFID card formats on the market — from MIFARE® and iCLASS® to Seos® — plus Bluetooth, NFC, and mobile access through HID Mobile Access™ or direct integration with your membership or POS system. Metramodo locker systems are installed in facilities worldwide, including Blue Lagoon Iceland, one of the most visited spa destinations on earth.

high-end spa lockers
Smart locker storage offers your high-end spa the chance to securely communicate with your guests on a day-to-day basis. Through technology integration, a locker can store and protect your client’s personal belongings — giving them a peace of mind while they enjoy a relaxing day at the spa.
fitness center lockers
Show that you care about your guests and employees by providing them a secure way to store their belongings while exercising. This will ease their mind and let them focus on their workout.
athletic locker room lockers
By leveraging networked lock technology your athletes not only have the ease of use of touching a button or presenting their student ID to get into their lockers, but your equipment managers do too.
As an equipment manager who needs to access and change out gear in the athletes’ lockers, with the click of one button all locker doors can open — making the time spent gearing up lockers that much easier and quicker.
ski lockers
Our networked locks can be integrated into 3rd party software making your guest experience seamless. An integrated solution can be as simple as using a guest access wristband for the day, cashless payment systems, or even be integrated with the hotel POS system—providing guests with only one key to access their room and lockers.
hospitality lockers
Hotels with spas and fitness centers offer their guests locker spaces for clothes and personal belongings. Make it a seamless experience for your guests with Metra locks in the locker room. Your guests can use the same key cards to reserve their locker for the day as they use for unlocking their guest room.
rental lockers
With Metra software, you can add any peripheral payment system turning your locker bank into rental lockers. Credit Card contactless pay systems, cash payments or integrations through the kiosk can provide plenty of options to handle your unique use case. Info terminals can also be incorporated into the solution.

Designed for your unique needs
Our Metra smart locking system is customized to your unique needs to use the lockers for long or short-term use. Configured to be self- or pre-assigned by an administrator or the system and opened by a 4-digit PIN, with your phone, RFID card, fob, and even your smartwatch.
blue lagoon
Blue Lagoon Iceland — one of National Geographic’s 25 Wonders of the World and one of the most visited destinations in Northern Europe — uses Metra smart locker technology throughout its geothermal spa facility. Guests receive RFID wristbands at check-in that serve as their locker key for the duration of their visit. No key to lose, no front desk to return to, no friction between the guest and the experience.
For a spa environment where guests move between pools, steam rooms, and treatment areas — and cannot carry a traditional key or card — an RFID wristband integrated with the locker system is the only practical solution. Metra locks are built to perform in high-humidity environments where standard electronic locks fail.
How smart lockers work across venue types
Gym and fitness centers
Members use their existing RFID membership card or keyfob to claim any available locker on arrival. The locker is theirs for the session. When they leave, the locker resets automatically and becomes available to the next member. Premium or assigned lockers for top-tier members can be configured in the same bank alongside day-use lockers — no separate systems.
Spas and wellness facilities
Guests receive an RFID wristband at check-in — the same wristband used for cashless purchases, treatment bookings, and building access. They tap the wristband to claim a locker and tap again to open it throughout their visit. Staff can remotely release all lockers at end of day with one action.
Hotels with fitness centers or spas
Guests use their existing hotel room keycard to access the locker room and claim a locker — no separate credential issued, no front desk visit. The locker is tied to their room for the duration of their stay, or released as day-use. The same Metra reader handles both the room key format and any guest-facing credential.
Ski resorts and recreational facilities
Guest wristbands or lift passes integrate directly with Metra locker readers via 3rd-party software. Rental transactions can route through the facility’s existing POS system, so locker rental is simply added to a guest’s tab — no cash, no separate payment terminal required.
Athletic locker rooms
Equipment managers can open every locker simultaneously with a single command — critical for pre-game gear setup. Players access their assigned locker with a student ID or RFID credential. Full audit trail of access events is available in the management dashboard.
